Crews called to fire at Utah State University

LOGAN — Emergency crews were called to an office fire late Wednesday night on the campus of Utah State University.

According to radio traffic, the fire was reported on the third-floor of the Animal Science building, north of the quad. A USU police officer reported black smoke coming from inside one of the offices and called 911.

Crews arrived on the scene and entered the office. They found the smoke coming from a malfunctioning heater. No flames were reported and the office was ventilated to clear the smoke.

The fire was reported around 10:30 p.m. There were no injuries were reported and smoke damage was limited to the office.
