Bigger and better Cowboy Rendezvous

HYRUM – Cache Valley’s 4th annual Cache Valley Cowboy Rendezvous is expected to be bigger and better than ever and Dale Major, founder and chairman of the popular event said there is a reason for that. Major said thanks to a RAPZ tax contribution from Cache County, there will be free admission for many events.

“Free admission means you can just walk through the doors. There will be three stages of continuous Western music and poetry. We have 22 musicians that will be rotating through those three stages and we have 16 cowboy poets. There will be a lot of opportunity to watch a lot of talent,” explained Major.

Major said the highlights include a Friday night concert with Suzy Bogguss along with Trinity Seeley and Sam Deleeuw, a Dave Stamey concert with Ernie Sites and Steve Spencer and a cowboy family dance on Saturday.

Headliner country star Suzy Bogguss said she got a warm welcome when she came for the Cache County Fair. She’s looking forward to her concert on Friday at 7 pm.

“One of the things I love about gatherings like this is the fact that it’s really an all-age event,” said Bogguss. “With a lot of my concerts, there are more adults at the show, but I love when kids are at the show and when folks bring their grandpas and their grandmas. When you get all ages of people together that can share in something like this, it’s just a really neat thing.”

The rendezvous takes place at Mountain Crest High School in Hyrum and closes Sunday morning with Cowboy Church at the American West Heritage Center in Wellsville.
