Local restaurant holding fundraiser for Louisiana flood victims

Thousands have lost their homes and all or most of their belongings in the recent floods in Louisiana. At least 40,000 homes have been damaged and 13 people died in some of the state’s worst flooding on record.

MayMoes, a Southern Cajun Grill, is hosting a fundraiser Saturday to help give these people a start on their new life.

MayMoes owner Jason Davis invites residents to come out and enjoy good food for a good cause.

“Come out,” he invited on KVNU’s For the People program. “Limited menu but it will be excellent food. Every bit of it is going to victims down there. Family and friends, people I absolutely know will really appreciate it. We thank everyone in this valley.”

Davis said 100% of the proceeds and any additional donations will go to the victims of the floods. The fundraiser will take place from 12-6 p.m.

The restaurant’s location is at 2500 N. Main inside the Tesoro Gas Station.
