Providence man injured in snowmobile accident, airlifted to McKay Dee Hospital

Cache County Search and Rescue were called to a snowmobile accident near Providence Lake Saturday afternoon. The accident victim has been identified as 25-year-old Scott Thompson, a resident of Providence.

Thompson was airlifted by a medical helicopter from the scene of the accident to McKay Dee Hospital. According to Cache County Sheriffs Lt. Chad Jensen, Thompson sustained multiple bone and muscle injuries.

Jensen says Thompson's injuries were not considered to be life-threatening. Jensen says the snowmobile accident has been turned over to Utah State Parks for investigation.
