LOGAN — Cache County Search and Rescue crews were called to Newton Reservoir Friday night after a man was reported to be floating in the middle of the lake.

Crews were dispatched to area at 11:45 p.m.

The middle-aged man was reportedly swimming in the reservoir but became tired and began struggling to remain afloat.

A County Search and Rescue boat with a team of rescuers was launched from the shore. Deputies and fire personnel with thermal imaging equipment attempted to maintain a location and guide the boat to the man.

The man was removed from the water, conscious and breathing. He was transported to the hospital.

In addition to Cache County Search and Rescue, crews from Logan and Newton assisted with the rescue.
