11 families displaced in Brigham City fire

BRIGHAM CITY, Utah (AP) – Authorities say 11 families are displaced after a fire that apparently started in a mattress spread through a Brigham City apartment complex.

Brigham City police Lt. Dennis Vincent says flames were shooting through the roof by the time firefighters arrived at about 7:30 p.m. Monday.

Nobody was injured, but Vincent says eight of the apartment units are believed to be a total loss.

He says the Red Cross and The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are helping the 11 families that were evacuated.
