Travel delays expected on Cache Valley roads

Marquee sign warning motorists of delays along US-91. The project will resurface the four-lane highway from Smithfield to the Idaho state line.  Roadwork will take place from 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. daily, Monday through Friday.

LOGAN — Travelers may see some delays on both US-89, in Logan Canyon and US 91, north of Smithfield.

Utah Department of Transportation (UDOT) said construction has begun on US-89 in Logan Canyon, installing a guardrail near Burnt Bridge. One lane of traffic will be closed during work and flaggers will be directing motorists. Construction is expected to continue through Thursday, June 5.

UDOT also said chip seal work is continuing on US-91, between Smithfield and the Idaho state line. Traffic will be restricted to one lane for each direction in the area where work is being done. The project is expected to continue through mid-to late July.
