Woman injured in Logan Canyon rollover

LOGAN — A 43-year-old Garden City woman had to be flown to an Ogden area hospital Wednesday morning, after a single-vehicle rollover near the summit of Logan Canyon, US 89.

Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cade Brenchley said Terry Lynn Wahlberg was driving south in a 2003 Ford Expedition, when she drifted off the road, over-corrected and then rolled.

“Initially she was talking a little bit,” said Brenchley.  “By the time medical and law enforcement got there she was not talking at all.  However, she was conscious and breathing, just not alert, just a blank stare.”

The vehicle came to a rest in the southbound lane.  The doors of the Expedition were jammed so crews had to use extrication tools to remove Wahlberg from the crash.

Brenchley said, as a precaution Wahlberg was transported to Ogden Regional Medical Center by Air Med helicopter.

“We couldn’t figure out what was going on,” said Brenchley.  “We assumed a head injury of some sort.  She had vomited.”

Traffic north of milepost 491 was blocked partially for a couple hours while crews investigated the accident.

Brenchley said troopers believe either fatigue or a possible seizure may have caused the accident.  Wahlberg was wearing a seat belt.
