USU student attending Academy Assembly to discuss U.S.-Russian relations

He just “retired” as president of the USU College Republicans and now Andy Pierucci is off to the Air Force Academy in Colorado Springs to attend the Academy Assembly. The event is an organization planned and carried out by students from all over the country.

On KVNU’s For the People program  Thursday, the political science major said he is excited about the focus at the Academy this year which is on U.S.-Russian relations.

<p style=”margin-bottom: 0in;”>”Geopolitical implications of the drop in oil prices, the rise of radical Islam in Europe, Western Europe and in Eastern Europe,” Pierucci exclaimed. “The whole Chechnyan separatist movement is still a very real thing with Russia, and how that reflects on the U.S. and U.S.-Russian relations. It’s going to be a really intersting conference.”
