Michael Ballam arrested for minor traffic violation

<strong>LOGAN —</strong> Entertainer Michael Ballam was arrested and booked into the Cache County Jail Friday.  The founder and director of the Utah Festival Opera and Musical Theatre, was jailed by the Logan City Police Department after being pulled over.

According to Assistant Chief Jeff Curtis, police officers pulled over Ballam for a minor traffic violation Friday afternoon.  When officers checked his driver’s license information, they found a warrant had been issued for his arrest, after he had failed to resolve a minor traffic violation from a month ago. 

Curtis said because of the warrant, officers took Ballam into custody and booked him into the Cache County Jail. 

According to Cache County records, Ballam was booked into jail at 3:56 P.M., Friday.  No bail was set.  Curtis said he did not know how long Ballam spent in jail before being released.

Friday morning, Ballam was a guest on <a href=”http://610kvnu.com/podcasts/cross-talk” target=”_blank”>KVNU’s Crosstalk show</a> and spoke about his excitement for this year’s Utah Festival Opera schedule.  Among the performances, Ballam is starring in the musical “Fiddler On The Roof,” that begins July 13<sup>th</sup>.
