LOGAN (AP) – A 25-year-old man has been arrested on an attempted homicide charge after an attack on an employee at a Logan assisted living center.

Logan police say they responded to reports around 10:30 p.m. Thursday about a violent and suicidal client at Northeastern Services. The business has apartments and provides services for people with mental illness and developmental disabilities.

Employees told police a client had strangled a female employee until she passed out, and was only stopped by a second employee who kicked down the client’s bedroom door.

The female employee later regained consciousness and was treated.

The suspect was booked into the Cache County jail.
