A traffic accident early Saturday morning north of Brigham City killed a 23-year-old Honeyville man.
Utah Highway Patrol troopers said John Eggleston was driving an Acura Integra northbound on SR-38 around 1:30 a.m. Near milepost two, the car ran off the road to the right and up an embankment. The vehicle rolled back down the embankment coming to a rest on the roadway.
Eggleston was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the car. He was transported by ambulance to the hospital where he died from his injuries.
No one else was in the vehicle and no other cars were involved.
Troopers report Eggleston was traveling at a high rate of speed before the accident occurred. He may have also been impaired.
