LOGAN — The Logan Film Festival has announced its line-up of films for 2013. The three day festival runs from March 21-23 featuring independent film screenings, community events and educational workshops at the Caine-Lyric Theatre and the Dansante Theatre in Historic Downtown Logan.

According to a Logan Film Festival press release, the festival is dedicated exclusively to truly self-financed filmmakers and seeks to inspire young and emerging filmmakers to help them succeed in the film industry. The festival is also being dedicated to the memory of Alan Hashimoto. Hashimoto was a member of the planning committee and an associate professor of graphic design at Utah State University. Hashimoto died in his Art Department office Monday, Feb. 11 of an apparent heart attack.

Forty-eight dramatic, animated, and documentary films will be screened covering a wide variety of subjects and genres. Of those 48, 24 will be world premiere films and eight films which have won honors at previous festivals. Films also vary in their length of time, lasting anywhere from two minutes to 120 minutes.

The festival will also host an opening night gala, filmmaker reception, awards ceremony, lectures, ‘FAM’ Tour, and HUB which offers opportunities to visit with those involved in the film making process.

The Logan Film Festival website provides film synopses, trailers, schedule, and parental advisories. Film information and tickets are now available online at loganfilmfestival.com.
