Box Elder Economic Development Summit aims to connect business people

BRIGHAM CITY – On Friday, November 8, business people and entrepreneurs will gather at Utah State University Brigham City Campus for the Fourth Annual Box Elder Economic Development Summit.

“Just a couple people wanted to help economic development three years ago, so they put on a little Summit,” said Box Elder County Economic Development Director and Box Elder Economic Development Alliance Chair Mitch Zundel. “We’re a non-profit organization trying to help economic development in Box Elder County.”

Registration and breakfast will begin at 8 am, followed by several different workshops. Zundel claims one of the most beneficial things of the Summit is networking.

Keynote speaker for this year’s Economic Development Summit is Robert Steed. Steed is an entrepreneur who founded or co-founded eight business enterprises, including Automatic Car Credit in Logan and Ogden, as well as Stephen’s Gourmet Cocoa. He is from Brigham City and attended Utah State University.

Zundel is also excited about the lunch for the event. They are calling it Taste of Box Elder.

“It will be a buffet of sorts. Different restaurants in Box Elder County will bring a little piece of the meal,” he explained.

Registration for the event is $25 and available on their website at <a href=”http://www.boxeldereda.org/2013-summit.html” target=”_blank”>boxeldereda.org</a>.
