LOGAN— Republicans had not just one, but two responses to President Barack Obama's State of the Union address Tuesday. The responses came from Senator Marco Rubio and from Senator Rand Paul, son of recently-retired Congressman Ron Paul, apparently representing the Tea Party.

Former Cache County Republican Party Chairman David James said he felt Rubio gave an outstanding talk and he saw no need to hear from Paul. James said Ron Paul had an odd approach that his son doesn't seem to have.

“As a result, some of his really good ideas got looked past because of that. I think that his son does not have that problem as far as communication goes, and he doesn’t take things quite as far as his dad does,” James said. “I think he knows and understands very well the importance of working with people and things like that.”

James does not believe, however, that Rand Paul will go as far as Rubio in the Republican Party.
