The Logan Municipal Council has given its unanimous support and tomorrow night the Cache County Council will vote on a proposal that could lead to a countywide library system. The proposal is for all non-city residents to pay $100 for a library card instead of the current $163 for an 18-month trial period. The county would subsidize unincorporated residents by $30 per card during this time. At the end of 18 months, the county council would agree to put the question of a countywide library system on the general election ballot. If the library measure fails, Logan will use information gathered from the 18 month trial period, along with current budget revenues and expenses, to determine the true cost of providing services and then set new card fees accordingly.
