SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — Utah Gov. Jon Huntsman and Lt. Gov. Gary Herbert plan to talk about plans for a transition process now that Huntsman has been nominated as U.S. ambassador to China. President Barack Obama on Saturday nominated the 49-year-old Huntsman to the post. Huntsman is fluent in Mandarin Chinese from his days as a Mormon missionary in Taiwan. Herbert will become the state’s governor if Huntsman is approved for the post by the U.S. Senate. Herbert, 62, plans to run in a special election in November 2010, and then run again for a full four-year term in 2012.
