Jessop Previews Upcoming Lyric Season

Just a few months after becoming head of the Utah State University Music Department Craig Jessop was named interim head of the Theatre Arts Department as well. Jessop says it was an effort for USU to save money and people during the current budget crisis and he was pleased to take on the additional assignment.Jessop says he’s excited about the Old Lyric Repertory Company’s 2009 season which opens June 11th and runs through August 1st at the historic Caine Lyric Theatre in downtown Logan.”This year’s productions will include the ever-popular “The Foreigner”, a wonderful, delightful farce; “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” a fun musical for the whole family; the British comedy “The Importance of Being Ernest”, a delightful romp of a dysfunctional family, and the traditional mystery offering as well,” Jessop said on KVNU’s Crosstalk Show Thursday. Jessop says this year’s mystery is “Ghosts of Ocean House,” an Edgar Award nominee. The Old Lyric Repertory Company is a production program based in USU’s Theatre Arts Department.
