Hyrum Smith, founder of Franklin Quest, co-founder of Franklin Covey and renowned speaker on business issues, is coming to Logan next week. Smith will speak about “Managing Change” in the business world when he speaks from 9:30 to 11:30 on Tuesday, June 9th in the Ellen Eccles Theatre.Utah Festival Opera Company founder and director Michael Ballam says Smith offered to do the presentation as a fundraiser for the opera company. “Traditionally those ticket prices start as $100,” Ballam explained on Friday’s KVNU Crosstalk Show. ” We’re not going to go there, anywhere near that. We’ve got special discounts if you call the box office. But any dollar you give is a donation to the Opera Company, completely, and you get to have Hyrum teach us so much about life and living.”Ballam says in 1993 Hyrum Smith donated $2.5 million to the Utah Festival Opera and he has assured Ballam that all the money raised from his speech will go to help the company through its current financial problems. Ballam says Smith is a world-famous motivational speaker and, in fact, is the “most compelling speaker ” he has ever heard. For more information call 750-0300 extension 108.
