SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The University of Utah says a magnitude 4.0 earthquake hit northern Utah but no damage was reported.Scientists at the university say the quake struck around 3:47 p.m. Wednesday.The epicenter of the quake, considered relatively light, was about four miles west of Riverside and nine miles northwest of Tremonton.Residents in 17 Utah cities and four Idaho cities – all within 40 miles of the epicenter – reported feeling the quake.Five earthquakes of magnitude 4.5 or larger have occurred in that area since 1962. The largest was a 6.0 quake in 1975 about 17 miles southwest of Malad City, Idaho.
