The Brigham City Senior Center will be the recipient of a $1,000 grant to supply and deliver pet food to pets of homebound seniors in the community. The money is from a “We All Love Our Pets” grant, and these types of grants are funded through the annual Season of Suppers campaign, which is an initiative funded by the Banfield Charitable Trust. The campaign runs throughout November and December primarily through a food and cash donation program in conjunction with pet hospitals across the country. Season of Suppers began three years ago after realizing that many homebound seniors were not receiving proper nutrition because they were sharing their meals with their pets. Season of Suppers aims to help feed the pets of homebound seniors and make sure they both receive the nutrition they need to live healthy lives. The Brigham City Senior Center will use the grant money to cover the cost of pet food and gas for delivery. For more information about this program, contact the Banfield Charitable Trust at (503) 922-5414.
