Strolling entertainment to add flair to Summerfest

Thousands of people are expected to gather on the shady lawn of the Logan Tabernacle this week to enjoy the 26th year of the Summerfest Art Faire. Summerfest director Marianne Sidwell says the popular event opens Thursday at 3 p.m. And remains open until 10 p.m. The hours on Friday and Saturday are from 10 a.m. To 10 p.m.Sidwell said that although the focus of the event will once again be on fine art, there will also be great food, great entertainment and something new this year that she calls “strolling entertainment.””It’s performance art. We’ve got a couple stilt walkers and they also have giant puppets that are bigger than a person,” Sidwell said. “They’re really big puppets that the kids will enjoy watching.”Also for the kids, Sidwell said, will be a “bubble tower.” The pyramid-shaped structure will shoot out thousands of bubbles for kids to run through and play in.Sidwell said that Summerfest brings everyone in the community together and there is no charge for admission. For more information about Summerfest including entertainment lineups, food vendors and more, visit
