Steve Thompson has stepped down from his seat on the Logan Municipal Council but he has not stepped out of his involvement with the city.Logan City Mayor Randy Watts says with the downturn in the economy grant money is hard to come by. He says Thompson has had a lot of fundraising experience working with government and other agencies and Watts believes Thompson could be valuable in going after available money to enhance the city.”I’m going to retain Steve as a consultant for the city to help us with grant writing, to go out and do the search for other possible moneys out there,” Watts said on KVNU’s For the People program Monday night. “Even though he stepped down from the council, I’m gonna keep him with us and put him on. He’ll be on a sub-contract with the city to move ahead so we can find some of that money.”Watts will be a guest for a full hour on KVNU’s “For the People” program tonight to discuss Thompson’s position, landfill options, Watts’ reelection bid and other issues currently facing Logan City.
