Two days after the filing period opened for 2009 municipal elections just two people had filed for office in Logan. Mayor Randy Watts filed for a second four-year term just minutes after filings opened on Wednesday.Also Holly Daines has thrown her proverbial hat in the ring for one of two council seats up for grabs this year. Council member Tami Pyfer has announced that she will not be seeking a third term and former Council Member Steve Thompson stepped down last month, several months before his term expired. The council chose Dean Quayle as a replacement for Thompson and Quayle has not decided yet whether he will run for the office. The filing deadline is July 15th.
