Nibley man charged with fraudulently obtaining prescriptions

A 32-year-old Nibley man has been charged with multiple counts of prescription drug fraud.Jeffery Stoddard was arrested by the Cache-Rich Drug Task Force after the agency received information that led them to be concerned Stoddard was involved with doctor shopping.Task Force Agent Robert Italasano opened a case and found that between April 10 and June 2, Stoddard allegedly obtained 28 controlled substance prescriptions from 18 doctors and had them filled at 14 pharmacies, totaling 624 pills.On July 4, Italasano was called to the emergency room of a hospital and found Stoddard there allegedly trying to get more medication. Stoddard was taken to the Cache County Jail on 24 counts related to possession and fraudulently obtaining a controlled substance.
