Fifteen vehicle owners found their automobiles booted late Friday night as they returned from the Logan fireworks show at Romney Stadium. Police reports state that the vehicles were parked in the parking lot of the now-closed Sigma Nu Fraternity house just west of Utah State University’s campus. The report states that all vehicles were disabled by the Cache Auto Booting Service. According to police reports, the fireworks patrons were said to be extremely upset and stated they were advised they could park there because the Sigma Nu house was closed down and it was summer break on campus. The motorists also told police they felt the booting company trapped them and said the company could have blocked the parking lot off altogether, signaling its unavailability. Logan police officers remained on the scene to keep the peace while the booting company received payment for the vehicles. Phone calls to Cache Auto Booting Service on Monday were not returned.
