Details about Jaycee Carroll’s new European team from his agent, Brad Ames:
Gran Canaria is a great organization that has made the playoffs 10 out of the last 11 seasons. They are a smaller market team but have a great fan base and an imposing home arena. Jaycee’s role will be to replace Carl English, who left to join Tau (also in Spain). He was one of the top scorers in Spain each of the past two seasons with them. They have a great coach, who just joined the team from Sevilla, another Spanish team. They are playing in the Spanish ACB obviously, and also in the Eurocup which will give Jaycee an opportunity to play against some top teams across Europe. It’s a 2-year deal with opportunities to join an NBA club each year and another European club after the first year. Thanks,Brad
So Jaycee gets a pay raise, at a more prestigious team, in a more prestigious league, gets to live in the Canary Islands and has an out to join the NBA? Not a bad deal.
