A string of severe thunderstorms swept through Cache Valley early this morning, creating a very intense and bright light show starting at about 1 a.m.A chance of storms is expected to continue through the weekend, according to the National Weather Service.The Thursday morning storms were accompanied by some brief bursts of rain but the main feature of the storm was the bright, rapid strips of lightning shooting every which way from the sky as the storm moved in a northeastern direction over the Wellsville Mountains from Brigham City.The forecast for today calls for a 30-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms, mainly after noon, otherwise we will have partly cloudy skies with a high near 92.Thursday night calls for a 20-percent chance of showers and thunderstorms before midnight with a low around 54.
