Search called off for 18-year-old girl in Green Canyon

Search crews stopped their search Friday in Green Canyon for an 18-year-old Las Vegas girl who was reported missing Thursday morning. At about 11 a.m. Thursday, Celina Roye was reported missing after she had entered the canyon area Wednesday night for a camping trip. Roye reportedly had decided to go on a hike with her dog. On Friday, Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Chad Jensen said the search was being called off because after interviews, search crews believed Roye was in no danger and was in the canyon by her own choice. The search came immediately on the heels of the finalization of a search for a 19-year-old drowning victim in Tony Grove Lake on Thursday. As crews completed work at the Tony Grove scene, they were immediately dispatched to assist in the Green Canyon search until it was suspended due to darkness at about 9 p.m.
