LOGAN, Utah — Sporting their stylish new white uniforms, the Utah State football team conducted Media Day Saturday afternoon at Romney Stadium and the Jim and Carol Laub Academics-Athletics Complex. The Aggies took their team photo, position photos, as well as newcomer photos. The Aggies met with the media for a little over an hour during the event that included a team photo, followed by position photos and newcomer photos. Head coach Gary Andersen as well as other selected coaches and players then addressed a gathering of statewide media.Coach Andersen opened the press conference, followed by sophomore running back Robert Turbin, senior quarterback Diondre Borel, senior center Brennan McFadden, senior safety James Brindley and senior cornerback Kejon Murphy.Nine other players conducted one-on-one interviews with various media. The USU players utilized the new meeting rooms and offices in the Jim and Carol Laub Academics-Athletics Complex.The Aggies debuted their new white uniforms, which are designed by Nike, and have navy lettering and numbers, as well as navy blue and black trim. The pants are white with navy blue and black trim. Saturday’s practice was also the first action in wet conditions as a rain storm rolled through Logan during the morning.USU’s final scrimmage of the fall will be in association with Utah State Aggie Football Family Fun Day, sponsored by Macey’s Foods, and will be held on Saturday, August 22 at Romney Stadium. The event provides fans a chance to meet USU football players and coaches, participate in games and activities as well as purchase season tickets.Activities sponsored by Macey’s Foods will begin at 12 p.m., on the South Concourse of Romney Stadium. USU’s football scrimmage gets underway at 1 p.m.Andersen and the Aggies return a WAC-leading 19 total starters, including a conference-best 10 on offense, as well as seven on defense and two kickers. Those 19 starters are part of 48 returning lettermen from last season’s 3-9 team. Last year was the first time since 2005 that the Aggies had three wins in a season and USU’s 3-5 WAC record was its best in its four seasons in the league.
