Tilley running to prevent others from having bad experiences

Real estate broker Chad Tilley says he’s running for a seat on the Logan Municipal Council not because he wants to be a politician but because of bad experiences with city government that he doesn’t want others to have to go through. On KVNU’s Crosstalk show Wednesday Tilley said as the owner of a duplex in the Adams Park area he was severely damaged through the park strip restoration project where the city seemed to think that one size fits all. “There are properties in Logan with a four-foot park strip, there are properties like mine that have a 15-foot park strip,” Tilley said. “My cars, from my tenants, never parked on the sidewalk and were completely off the street. There was never a complaint and never a problem. But, equal enforcement says it’s got to go the same as everyone else. But I can show you multiple situations today, I can drive you around my neighborhood, where the city isn’t enforcing their same law.”Now Tilley says the city wants to pass a new landlord licensing law which he describes as another attempt to give the city more authority over its citizens. He hopes a lot of people will speak out against the landlord licensing program at a public hearing on Tuesday, August 18th.
