The story of how a case of text messaging while driving killed two men from Logan appeared on the front page of Saturday’s New York Times. The article by Matt Richtel chronicles the story of Reggie Shaw, now 19, and the 2006 crash that killed James Furfaro and Keith O’Dell. You can read the article by Clicking Here. The piece isn’t just a look at the Shaw case, however, rather it’s an all-encompassing look at how Utah’s new tougher laws against text messaging while driving could impact the rest of the country. Still, Shaw and the local players from Cache County in the case such as County Attorney James Swink, Victims Advocate Terryl Warner and UHP Trooper Bart Rindlisbacher are all quoted among others. At one point Saturday afternoon, the article was listed as the most viewed on the Times Web site.
