A 9-year-old boy was transported to the Primary Children’s Medical Center in Salt Lake City Wednesday night after he was struck by a motorist near 300 East and 300 South in Hyrum.The crash happened at about 5:30 p.m., Cache County Sheriff’s Lt. Chad Jensen said in a press release. The boy was taken to Logan Regional Hospital but was later taken via LifeFlight to Salt Lake City.Jensen said the initial investigation of the crash showed that speed was not a factor, though the victim may have went into the road and the oncoming traffic. The driver of the vehicle was a 56-year-old man who lives in the south end of Cache County, Jensen said.This case is still under investigation and more information will be available when the investigation is complete.
