Independence Caucus backing three Logan City candidates

A town hall meeting hosted by the Cache County Independence Caucus Tuesday evening will feature the three Logan City candidates endorsed by the new organization. The meeting starts at 7 pm at the Bridger Elementary School, 1261 North 400 West in Logan. Michelle King, who chairs the Independence Caucus along with her husband Brannon, says the mission of the group is “The Triumph of Integrity Over Money.” King says the Independence Caucus has endorsed Mike Morrill for mayor of Logan and both Tony Wegener and Steven Stokes for municipal council. “What we felt about all these candidates,” King says, “is that they were very strong-minded as far as keeping personal liberties and rights, and keeping government to the minimum of basically protecting our personal rights and not adding additional regulations that can further one group over another or that would violate somebody’s personal property rights, and those work the same.” King says through interviews and questionnaires her group decided the three candidates were all Constitutionally minded and yet were concerned about the debt the city has incurred. King says the public is invited to the town hall meeting where each candidate will give a short speech then answer questions from those attending.
