24-year old Jose Jimenez of Logan has been charged with first degree felony rape of a child. Logan Police reports state the victim, a 13-year old girl, went to the home of a friend in August; Jimenez was also at the home. Eventually everyone left the house except the victim and Jimenez. Jimenez reportedly asked the girl if he could sit by her on the couch. Police reports state soon after that Jimenez engaged in sexual activity with the girl. Lt. Rod Peterson says the girl told her friend four days later of what happened and the friend encouraged her to tell authorities. Initially, police were unable to find Jimenez, but on September 3rd they located him at 2100 North and US-91. He was interviewed and admitted that since the girl was 13 years old, she could not give consent to sexual activity. Jimenez was booked into the Cache County Jail.
