LOGAN, Utah Sarah Hibbert recorded a match-high 21 kills and Cinthia Silvaadded 12 kills and 12 digs to lead Utah to a five-set win (23-25, 25-14,25-20, 21-25, 15-10) against Utah State here inside the Dee Glen SmithSpectrum Tuesday night. UU improves to 6-2 on the season with the win andUSU falls to 2-3 overall with the loss. Sophomore outside hitter Liz McArthur (St. George, Utah/Snow Canyon HS) hada team-high 15 kills for Utah State, while freshman outside hitter JosselynWhite (Smithfield, Utah/Sky View HS) added a career-high 10 kills. Juniorlibero Christine Morrill (Neola, Utah/Union HS) also played well for USU andfinished the match with 28 digs, one shy of her career-high. McArthur and White each registered four kills in the opening set as USUnotched the two-point win. USU hit .273 (14-5-33) in that first set ascompared to a .212 (14-7-33) hitting percentage for UU. Set two was allUtah as it hit .235 (14-6-34) and held the Aggies to a negative .091(4-7-33) hitting percentage en route to the 11-point win. Utah used a 10-2 run to break open a close contest in the third set as itwon, 25-20. In the third set, UU hit .212 (14-7-33) and USU hit .128(11-6-39). Utah State rallied to win set four, 25-21, as White had fivekills to lead the way for the home team who scored the first five points.In the fourth set, USU hit .220 (17-8-41) and UU hit .242 (11-3-33). In the fifth and final set, Utah State held an early 4-2 lead and was up 8-7before Utah scored eight of the final 10 points for the win. The Utes hit.296 (9-1-27) in the fifth set as compared to a .069 (7-5-29) hittingpercentage for the Aggies. Utah finished the match with a .237 (62-24-160) hitting percentage ascompared to a .126 (53-31-175) hitting percentage for Utah State. The Utesalso had 12 more digs (73-61) and 2.5 more team blocks (14.0-11.5) in thematch.
