Utah Highway Patrol plans Halloween DUI blitz

The Utah Highway Patrol will be using extra manpower from the south to the north of Utah looking for those who are driving impaired, fatigued or reckless on Halloween. There will be over 250 Troopers out looking for dangerous drivers on Utah’s roads in an effort to make this Halloween as safe as possible. There will be extra troopers out in Cache and Box Elder Counties working federal DUI overtime shifts. Troopers will be making traffic stops for any dangerous driving behavior and encouraging everyone that chooses to drink alcohol to use a designated driver. Ultimately, UHP officials say, the hope is to not find any impaired drivers, but if this year follows previous years’ trends, there will be several arrests made.
