Right now Cache County’s 2010 budget is out of balance but County Executive Lynn Lemon assured the county council Tuesday night that it will be a balanced budget he presents at the next meeting on November 10th.Although council members agreed Cache County is in better financial position than many other counties, Lemon said that doesn’t mean things aren’t tough. He says revenues have decreased to the point that there will be no pay increases for employees but, he says, hopefully people won’t be losing jobs.”Really, over the last year we’ve tried to make sure that if we had positions opened up we seriously looked as to whether we fill those positions or we could hold off filling those positions,” Lemon said. “We intend to continue to do that and we’ll see what we are faced with trying to bring this budget into balance.”Lemon says he still has to meet with some department heads before the budget is finalized. There will be a public hearing before the budget is approved.
