Republican Utah Senator Bob Bennett was a co-sponsor with Democratic Senator Ron Wyden of Oregon on a health care bill referred to as the Healthy Americans Act. But Wyden has now been seen on television praising a bill with a public option.Bennett says he and Wyden parted company on this issue after it appeared the Healthy Americans Act would not be given a hearing. Bennett says it appears that Wyden is now trying to establish his credentials with his fellow Democrats to help shape a final bill.Bennett says he and Wyden both favored consumer choice but a public option is not what Bennett would choose for a consumer choice.
