The American Festival Chorus will perform its second annual Veterans Day Tribute on Wednesday, November 11th startng at 7:30 p.m. in the Kent Concert Hall of the USU Chase Fine Arts Center. The chorus is part of the Utah State University Caine School of the Arts and Music Director Craig Jessop says it is comprised of approximately 300 dedicated local singers. Jessop says the patriotic concert is a salute to veterans of Cache Valley and will include such favorites as God of Our Fathers, America The Beautiful and The Star Spangled Banner.”In addition to the beautiful music we’ll have a Color Guard from the ROTC detachments at USU,” Jessop explains. “We’ll have two speakers: the new commander of the Army ROTC, a Colonel, and a recently-returned First Lieutenant from Afghanistan who is a local valley native. And in this concert we’re honoring Michael Allred who lost his life in Iraq in 2005.”Jessop says tickets are free but necessary. The tickets are available through the Caine School of the Arts box office and they are going fast. He says 400 of the best seats are reserved for active military and veterans, who are encouraged to wear their uniforms to the concert. Veterans are asked to call (435) 797-1012 or (435) 797-1728 for reservations.
