ROY, Utah (AP) – Board members from the Logan, Hyde Park and Smithfield Canal Company are studying a $25 million proposal to join two major Utah irrigation canals — including one that ruptured last summer. An engineering study suggests connecting the Logan and Northern middle canal with the Logan, Hyde Park and Smithfield upper canal at 3100 North. A company composed of the boards of both canals would govern the new waterway.
