Tonight is Utah Bioneers Evening at the Logan Tabernacle and it will be followed by the sixth annual sustainability-focused Bioneers Conference, scheduled for Friday and Saturday, November 20th and 21st at Utah State University.Tonight’s event is free and open to the public and starts at 7 p.m. The keynote speaker is Dianne Nielsen, state energy advisor to Utah Governor Gary Herbert. who will review Utah’s current energy supply and energy plans for the future.USU Physics Professor and climate change specialist, Robert Davies, is one of the speakers at the Bioneers Conference and he will talk about Climate Change on Saturday morning, November 21st. Davies says there’s a lot of confusing and conflicting information about climate change and that’s what he plans to address.”I don’t deal a lot with policy,” Davies says. “I try to just help people understand what is the science and what is the level of scientific consensus on this issue.”I think that has improved dramatically, internationally and nationally, in terms of starting to accept the risks that we are facing and the scale of the risks and the scale of the solutions. I think that unquestionably there has been progress.”Davies says unfortunately as serious as we thought things were three years ago there is evidence to suggest things have been progressing fast since then.
