It’s just as authentic as other activities, but the next offering at the American West Heritage Center has nothing to do with farming, pioneers and mountain men. Instead, the center is holding the annual Victorian Christmas Feast which program director David Sidwell says is his favorite event of the year. Sidwell said that many of our Christmas traditions come from the Victorian period and it’s fun to re-live that and see a few more we may have forgotten. He said the Victorian Feast is actually an elegant eight-course meal.”It’s being catered by John Simpson at Culinary Concepts,” Sidwell said. “We take several weeks and research the historic menu to make sure it’s accurate to Victorian times.”Sidwell said there’s a Victorian Ball after the dinner, with the Folk String Band providing the music. Tickets are $29.50 a person for the feast, and that includes the price of the ball. The ball will be held for three nights, this Thursday, Friday and Saturday. The cost is just $5 for guests wanting to dance. For more information call 245-6050.
