If people feel like they need some legal help to deal with problems like alimony, child custody, tenant’s rights or making a will there is help available without cost through the Cache County Bar Association’s “Thursday Night at the Bar” program.Attorney Rand Henderson, coordinator of the program, says it is designed to help those who cannot afford an attorney and Spanish speaking attorneys are also available. The clinic is held the second Thursday of each month from 5:30 to 7 p.m. at the Cache County Council Chambers in the Historic Cache County Court House, 199 N. Main, Logan. The next clinic is Thursday, December 10th.On KVNU’s Crosstalk Show Monday, Henderson said people come with a variety of problems and concerns. “People with family law problems, divorce, child support and child custody modification types of cases, often they’re not in a position where they have a lot of funds to approach those legal issues,” said Henderson. “So we see a lot of those folks. And we’re really able to do a lot to help those folks. We can give them an idea of what chances they have…to do a child custody modification or how to go about getting support if they’re not getting support and there are some resources the state has for that. “Henderson says the clinic has a focus mainly on civil legal problems because those with criminal legal problems are provided an attorney by the state if they cannot afford one.
