The identity of a body burned in an apparent Box Elder County suicide on December 28th has still not been determined. A fire was spotted south of 1100 South in Perry and west of the rail tracks and on investigation a body was discovered. According to the Box Elder News Journal, the medical examiner’s office found smoke in the woman’s lungs indicating she was alive when she was on fire. Perry Police are following up on a woman’s name found on papers near the body and they have contacted out-of-state family members asking for dental records. Police Chief Mike Jones says there was only one set of tracks in the area around the body and the pattern matched the victim’s shoes.
