Collinston man arrested in prescription drug sting

A Collinston man allegedly obtained a staggering 9,682 pills over the course of 11 months, and now faces over 60 charges related to prescription fraud, doctor shopping, and insurance fraud. According to police records, between December 2008 and November 2009, 56-year old Lynn C. Greer obtained 100 prescriptions from six different doctors, and had them filled at three different pharmacies. Logan Police Lt. Rod Peterson says law enforcement was made aware of the situation and immediately started an investigation. Peterson says most of the pills were for pain. Greer is also charged with insurance fraud due to obtaining prescription medications from multiple doctors without them knowing he was being treated by other doctors. Logan Police served Greer with a summons January 12th.
