“Freezin’ for a Reason.” That’s the theme for the 2010 Polar Plunge, a unique Special Olympic Utah fundraiser hosted by Cache Valley law enforcement taking place Friday and Saturday at Hyrum State Park.Pledges and donations have been collected for those who are brave enough to jump into the frigid icy waters of Hyrum State Park in the middle of the winter. Everyone’s invited to come out, whether to be a plunger or a spectator. There will be food, prizes, a costume contest and a lot of fun for everyone. All “super plunge teams” start plunging at 12 noon Friday and all non-super plunge teams start Saturday at the same time.
