Choral concert highlighting various facets of love

Pop artists Jenny Frogley and Daniel Beck will heat up the Kent Concert Hall in the Chase Fine Arts Center at Utah State University Saturday with the American Festival Chorus Valentines Concert with the theme “Choral Music is for Lovers.”The concert starts at 7:30 p.m. and the American Festival Chorus is a community-based choir sponsored by the USU Department of Music. Craig Jessop, music director and department head, says the concert is a celebration of love in all its various facets: romantic love, love of family, love of God, love of country, love of fellow man, not just the romantic aspect.Jessop says the concert will feature romantic favorites, traditional tunes to celebrate Valentines Day and a President’s Day tribute as well. Frogley has recorded more than 100 albums, sung as a soloist with the Mormon Tabernacle Choir and in Radio City Music Hall. Beck has performed in many musicals, released his own album and been featured in three “Liken the Scriptures” episodes.Tickets are available at the Caine School of the Arts box office and at the Ellen Eccles Theatre box office.
