Six weeks after her second term on the Logan Municipal Council ended, Tami Pyfer has been approved for a seat on the State Board of Education. She succeeds Shelley Locke who stepped down early to spend more time speaking publicly for families. Pyfer received a unanimous vote of confirmation from the Utah Senate on Wednesday and she was sworn in Thursday. Pyfer will be serving on the Student Achievement and School Success standing committee. Before her time on the Logan Municipal Council, Pyfer was previously the director of the Logan Schools Foundation. Pyfer says she is excited about her new job.
