The so-called Central Park Senior Center project was to have come before Logan’s Planning Commission a month ago for clarification of decisions relating to height of the building and parking. The request was postponed until the February 25th meeting of the Planning Commission. But now the agenda item has been withdrawn by Rick Plewe and Associates of Salt Lake City. The company had asked to build a new senior center along with approximately 200 upscale apartments on county-owned land. The existing senior citizen center would be torn down.Glenn Goines, of the Logan City Planning Office, says Plewe gave no reason for the project’s withdrawal from the agenda. County Executive Lynn Lemon says he has not talked to anyone about the project since November.Seniors using the existing center were opposed to the project and Lemon has said he could only support it if a financial study showed a need for such a facility.
